National Summit on Creative Youth Development

First-ever National Summit on Creative Youth Development held in March 2014 – Attended by more than 200 people from 25 states and the District of Columbia who pledged some 86 commitments for action. Resulted in Collective Action for Youth:  An Agenda for Progress through Creative Youth Development Forged a partnership between Mass Cultural Council, National Guild for Community Arts Education, and President’s Committee on the Arts and Humanities Established a National Advisory Committee for this work

New Research Sets Stage to Advance Emerging Field of Creative Youth Development

  The Mass Cultural Council and the President’s Committee on the Arts and the Humanities commissioned a research study, “Setting the Agenda,”  conducted by Lauren Stevenson and released in preparation for the 2014 National Summit on Creative Youth Development.

Mass Cultural Council Celebrates Two Decades of Public Investment in the Creative Potential of Young People

Mass Cultural Council will celebrate the 20th anniversary of its YouthReach Initiative with a series of events that culminate in a national agenda to propel the field of creative youth development into the next decade. In March the agency will host a national summit, in partnership with the President’s Committee on the Arts & the Humanities and the National Guild for Community Arts Education, that brings the best and the brightest working at the intersection of the arts, culture and youth development to Boston. And launches a new blog, Seen & Heard, where we will tell stories of young lives transformed through creativity and of the skilled practitioners who made those stories possible.
